Children of Aging Parents


Learning to navigate the needs of aging parents can be difficult. COAP is here to help. Attend informational seminars designed to keep you informed on topics that children helping their aging parents will likely face along the journey. The COAP support group is a place of encouragement & hope with others walking the same path. COAP meets every other week during the Groups cycle.

Caring For Someone Living With Dementia

Part 1: Using a Positive Physical Approach™ (PPA™)

Guest Speaker: Maureen Willis, RN, BSN

We will explore the visual processing changes that occur with aging and the impact of these changes for a person living with dementia. We will look at the rationale for the use of the PPA™ for communication and interaction as opposed to a traditional social interaction when care partnering with a person living with dementia.

A presentation to help spark conversations about end of life issues, planning, and wishes.
