A man, a very good man – thousands of years ago – dies and is buried. At some point in the distant past, people started claiming that he rose from the dead. It really is an outrageous claim, and pretty unbelievable. So is it reasonable to believe something like that? And if Jesus did rise from the dead, what does it mean?

Throughout God’s interaction with humankind He has employed symbolism, the use of material things, to help us understand spiritual realities.
In the week Jesus approached Jerusalem and ‘His hour’, God choreographed events to make the purpose of Jesus’ death poetically and emphatically clear

When we think of this question, we likely think of other religious options – Jesus vs. Muhammad or Jesus vs. Buddha. Many of us, may even think it’s not even worth considering. But what are the less obvious ways we trust something or someone other than Jesus to ‘save’ us? We trust Jesus with taking us to heaven but what about his saving work in transforming our lives today? This weekend we look at Jesus’ saving work. He offers more than fire insurance from hell. He offers more than a one time transaction and a prayer. He offers us an entirely new life of purpose and significance with him.

Perhaps the quickest way to assess the health of your soul is to take note of what goes through your mind when you think about the possibility of Jesus returning today. How does that thought impact you? This week in our series, “True Jesus” we will ask the question, “What will Jesus do when He returns?”

Ubiquitous. It is a great word. It is an adjective that describes something that’s everywhere, omnipresent, or so common that we hardly notice it. Ubiquitous. It describes the influence of Jesus of Nazareth within our culture we experience every day. He is everywhere…so common in His influence we don’t even notice Him. This week we begin a new teaching series, “REAL JESUS”. We will begin by asking the question, “Has Jesus made a difference in our lives and culture?” The answer is: He is ubiquitous…and you didn’t even notice.

All sorts of religions tell us that we can rise to higher levels of merit and consciousness… and become gods. Only Christianity teaches us that the Creator of the universe has limited His power and stooped to become a person like us. This week we will look at this remarkable claim: Jesus is God who has come in human form.

We all do better with clarity. The days I struggle the most are the days when I’m not sure what exactly I am supposed to be doing. Though this may be our plight – it was not this way for Jesus. He was clear on the reasons why he came to earth, and with precision moved with clarity throughout his time here. Join us this weekend as we unpack a bit – the very mission of Christ.

An oxymoron occurs when: “words are juxtaposition that appear contradictory but upon reflection, their meaning becomes apparent.” Oxymorons sound like ‘jumbo shrimp’ or ‘same difference’… or our topic for the weekend, ’VIRGIN BIRTH.’ You may not have a found a safe place to ask these questions, but this weekend we will be considering: Did Jesus really come into the world this way? If He did, why such a weird entrance? Can I reject the virgin birth and still be a follower of Jesus?
