Throughout the Bible we meet people who stand at diverging paths, then choose the ‘road less traveled.’ We see that the ‘road less traveled’ is walked by people who live in response to God’s leadership. Like individuals, churches have roads to choose too.
Through a season of prayer in seeking God’s leadership for Two Rivers Church, a common theme emerged regarding our purpose and forming our vision as a church: to multiply.
Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on hearth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
The vision of Two Rivers Church in this chapter of our journey is to multiply healthy disciples in 5 specific areas: churches, leaders, families, local & global impact, and Word & Spirit values.
We are called to multiply churches in other communities to greater impact the presence of Jesus in the lives of others.
So far, we have planted churches in South Florida and Ooltewah, TN.
In addition, in 2017 we established a new campus in Roane County and in early 2020 we launched the Bearden Campus just west of downtown Knoxville. Both of these campuses are thriving and the enthusiasm of the communities is amazing.
We believe multiplying godly leaders is not only essential for the future of Two Rivers Church, but that we are called to raise up leaders to be salt and light in the business community, educational community and local government.
We are called to equip parents to be the primary disciples in their homes and to pursue health in their marriage.
Marriage Innovators Workshops, for married and pre-married couples, enrich and strengthen marriages with practical and helpful marriage insights through relevant curriculum as well as coaching from our Marriage Mentor Couples.
Multiplying healthy families also involves multiplying confident, capable parents. We do this through classes and groups focused around specific parenting life-stages, such as Making the Most of Kindergarten, Preparing for Middle School, and even when the tables turn, we offer help and support through COAP: Children of Aging Parents.
The “GO” part of the Great Commission is critical for us. That is why we are committed to multiplying our Gospel impact both locally and globally.
Globally, we have 3 primary focus areas:
Local impact also has 3 focus areas:
We are called to multiply disciples who live by the Word of God and are guided by His Spirit.
Our annual Listen Up Weekend is designed for all believers. The training is designed to teach believers how to:
Quiet Waters is a bi-annual event, hosting people from around the locally, nationally & internationally, that is a facilitated time designed for the attendees to meet with God and practice hearing from Him in community and personally.
2RC leaders also travel nationally and internationally to partner with and coach both church and country leaders in Word & Spirit values.
