Live It Out | A Daily Discipleship Guide

Monday

Jesus’ resurrection fulfills God’s promise that death will be defeated forever. What emotions or thoughts rise in you as you read the story of the empty tomb and the road to Emmaus? How do you relate to the confusion, wonder, or recognition in these moments? Where in your life do you feel like death still speaks louder than hope? Practice the spiritual discipline of listening as you ask Jesus, “Where are you asking me to embrace the truth that you defeated death?”

Tuesday

God declared victory over death long before Jesus. God promised long ago that He would “swallow up death forever.” The imagery is vivid as death itself devoured, grief removed, shame erased. What stands out to you in this picture of God’s future? How does this change the way you think about death, your own or that of those you’ve loved? Ask Jesus, “Where in my life do I need to remember that you have already defeated death?”

Wednesday

Jesus’ resurrection turned God’s promise through Isaiah into reality. What does Paul mean when he says death has lost its “sting”? How does the resurrection give you courage in a world still marked by death and decay? What about our future resurrection? What’s one area of life where fear or loss still speaks louder than truth? Ask Jesus, “What’s one truth I need to cling to when I’m tempted to believe death or sin still have power?”

Thursday

The path forward is life in Jesus today. The Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now lives in you. Resurrection isn’t just future, it’s present today!  You’re already alive with Jesus, so you can live like it. What does it mean that the Spirit gives life “to your mortal bodies” now? Where do you feel like you’re still living in old dead patterns? What’s one new step of freedom or obedience you can take today? Ask Jesus, “Who do you want me to pray for today? How do you want me to pray for them?”

Friday

What does it mean that Jesus isn’t giving a new law, but calling us to become a certain kind of person? How does investing in what is coming on the weekend reflect humility, love, or desire to be shaped in the image of Christ? Why is this an important part of growing as a follower of Jesus? Ask Jesus, “How do you want me to pray about Serve Saturday, as we serve in the community tomorrow?” Practice the spiritual discipline of service this weekend.
