Live It Out | A Daily Discipleship Guide

Listen to this week’s sermon or the Live It Out Podast | APPLE MUSIC | SPOTIFY

Monday | June 2

Heart-changing transformation leads to a life of truth and love. How does Jesus’ life challenge the way our culture thinks of getting even, love, and mercy? When are you tempted to retaliate or protect your image instead of responding with love? Ask Jesus, “Who is a person in my life that I would consider as an “enemy”? Pray for God to bless that person.

Tuesday | June 3

A transformed heart values honesty in relationships. Why do you think Jesus emphasizes truth-telling in this passage? How can honesty build or rebuild trust in your relationships? What’s one relationship where you need to be more truthful or transparent this week?

Ask Jesus, “In what area do you want your words and ways to shape my heart more deeply?” Pray for our Middle School students who are at camp this week.

Wednesday | June 4

A transformed heart trusts God’s justice. What part of this passage challenges you the most? How is understanding God’s wrath important in learning to love your enemies? How might blessing someone who wronged you begin to change your own heart? Ask Jesus, “Who is a person in my life that I would consider as an “enemy”? It may or may not be the same person who was on your heart Monday. Pray for them!

Thursday | June 5

A transformed heart is growing in radical love. What do you think it means that “God is love”? How does knowing you are fully loved by God free you to love others? How can you remember God’s love throughout the day today? Who do you need to love more boldly or sacrificially this week? Ask Jesus, “How are you inviting me to reflect your love to others today?”

Friday | June 6

A transformed heart demonstrates the complete life in Christ. As you look back over this section of the Sermon on the Mount beginning in verse 17, what has challenged you most? Are you seeing God working your heart and mind? How can you press further into that? Worship him for the work he’s doing in your life.
