Live It Out | A Daily Discipleship Guide

Monday

God’s radical grace pursues every heart, even the ones we’ve written off. God’s grace pursues Jonah’s heart as well as the people of Nineveh. Reflect on a time when God’s grace pursued you, even when you felt undeserving or distant. How can remembering this shape your response to others? Is there someone in your life that you find difficult to believe could experience God’s grace? Why might that be, and how is God challenging your heart today? Ask Jesus, “Who needs to experience your radical grace?”

Tuesday

God’s grace transforms human hearts, not human effort. Jonah’s simple message led to the repentance of an entire city, showing that it’s God who does the transformative work. Where in your life do you feel pressure to ‘make things happen’ spiritually? How might God be inviting you to trust his grace to bring change instead? Ask Jesus, “What’s one area where you want me to respond in faith, allowing your grace to transform my heart?

Wednesday

God’s grace is realized when we believe God. Peter boldly declares Jesus as the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan. How does recognizing God’s grace through Jesus reshape your understanding of the challenges you face? Where is God inviting you to trust in his grace right now? For relationships with others? Where do you see an opportunity in your life to show God’s grace and share the hope found in Jesus? Ask Jesus, “Who needs to experience your radical grace today?”

Thursday

God’s grace disrupts our ideas of justice. In this story, we see an enemy as the one who extends radical grace when culture would have said it is beyond reasonable. What barriers do you need to overcome to follow Jesus’ example? In what ways is Jesus inviting you to show unexpected grace or mercy to someone in your life? Ask Jesus, “What practical step can I take today to embody this radical grace today?”

Friday

God’s radical grace pursues every heart, even the ones we’ve written off.  Memorize Jonah 4:11 and connect the book of Jonah to the question, “…should I not pity ______ ?” Who fits on the blank for you? Ask Jesus, “Who needs to experience your radical grace today?”
