2RC-wide FAQs
All of our teaching messages explore the books, chapters, and verses of the Bible. We place high value on scripture and our teaching helps examine the context, original meaning, and current application of the Bible’s passages.
We use a team of four pastors to deliver our messages, so the pastor teaching each weekend will change. This brings a variety of insights, styles, and experiences to our messages.
We are a member of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), which is an association of autonomous churches united around ten theological convictions. The 1,600 EFCA churches in the United States cooperate on global initiatives such as sending missionaries and responding to crises. Two Rivers Church has full authority related to its vision, mission, hiring/firing, management, and operation. The EFCA believes, “In essentials unity; in non-essentials liberty; in all things, charity.”
All of our campuses have nurseries for newborns and kids ministry classes for children through 5th grade. Our goal in each of these classes is to provide kids a welcoming, loving, and safe environment that lays a spiritual foundation for their lives. We want to come alongside the parents of the kids who we minister to at each age level to help them lay a spiritual foundation that will, in His timing, lead their child into a personal relationship with Christ.
Our Kids Ministry is open on all three campuses, during most Sunday services (check the FAQs above for individual campuses’ offerings). We look forward to seeing your family!
We believe that the true church comprises all who have been justified by God’s grace through faith alone in Christ alone. If you consider yourself to be a member of the true church, you are welcome to join us for communion.
We believe that communion, while not a means of salvation, does confirm and nourish the believer when celebrated by the church in genuine faith. Communion is integrated into our worship services when it complements the message being taught that week. Typically, this occurs 5 or 6 times per year. Communion is served weekly in the Amped venue at the Harrison Lane campus.
We do not collect an offering as part of our weekly services.
However, we do believe that giving to the church is a responsibility of all believers. To this end, we have offering boxes mounted in each worship venue and we encourage online giving from our members.
We share the 10 statements of faith to which all EFCA churches adhere. We also believe that God has called us “to make Gospel-centered, Word-dependent, Spirit-empowered, and relationally connected followers of Jesus.” Our mission and vision in support of that beliefs can be found at this link.
