Spreading Joy: Angel Tree Event at the Oak Ridge Campus
This holiday season, our campus was filled with joy, generosity, and community spirit as we partnered with the Family Resource Center of Oak Ridge to host their annual Angel Tree event. What an incredible week it was!
Thanks to the hard work and heart of so many, we were able to be a part of serving over 1,000 children through this meaningful event. Families from across our community came through, embraced by generosity, encouragement, and the warmth of fellowship.
As families and our community arrived, we had the opportunity to serve hot chocolate, helping spread warmth on a chilly day and create a welcoming space for connection. Many families stopped by to talk, laugh, and even receive prayer and encouragement from caring volunteers.
We were blessed to meet so many members of our community — hearing stories, seeing faces, and witnessing the powerful impact of people coming together to serve.
This event has been a staple in the community for many years through the tireless efforts of Jo Bruce and her amazing team. We were blessed to be able to host them this year, and hopefully for years to come! From wrapping gifts with care, preparing bags full of essentials, to delivering gifts directly to families in need, the heart and hands of everyone who invested their time and efforts made a difference in so many lives across our county.
Whether it was wrapping gifts, tying ribbons, or offering a warm greeting, every act of service contributed to the success of the day and helped ensure that children in our community experienced joy and hope this Christmas.
We are grateful for:
- The Family Resource Center of Oak Ridge, for its leadership and partnership
- Volunteers who generously gave their time and energy
- Families who allowed us to serve them
This Angel Tree event reminded us what the season is truly about — giving, caring, and coming together as a community. We look forward to continuing this tradition and serving our neighbors with love and joy for years to come.
